Sharing the Vision

Ms. Ridley:

Yesterday, I purchased my first issue of Hope (Spring 2001). After reading two of the articles, I couldn't wait to get out of the house to share them with two friends. The inspiring story, "To Know Who They Are," about Dolores Sheen's Los Angeles school, went to my friend, Kathy. At age forty, she has gone back to school to become a teacher and has a vision of starting a school on her farm.

The other article, "Trusting The Mind's Eye," about Lisa Fittipaldi's remarkable discovery of her painting abilities after the loss of her eyesight, went to my painting student Mary who is deaf and is gradually losing her eyesight. I am inspired by watching Mary work so hard to paint, and hopeful for Mary after reading about Lisa's success in painting and her work to help others.

Tonight I will read more, but these two articles were enough to convince me Hope is the perfect Father's Day present for my father, an avid nightly news watcher. With so much negative news pouring into his living room on a regular basis, I know he will find relief with the good news of Hope. How about publishing "The Nightly Hope"?
